Welcome to Medace for iOS! This guide will help you get started with our educational platform on your iPhone or iPad. Medace provides access to high-quality university courses, video lectures, and learning materials.

This guide covers iOS-specific features including App Store integration, in-app purchases using Apple's billing system, and platform-specific settings.

2. System Requirements

To run Medace on iOS, your device must meet the following requirements:

  • iOS Version: iOS 15.0 or later
  • Device: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch compatible with your iOS version
  • Storage: At least 200 MB of free space for installation (additional space needed for cached videos)
  • Internet: Wi-Fi or cellular connection required for content streaming and account features
  • Apple ID: Required for App Store downloads and in-app purchases

3. Installation

Follow these steps to install Medace on your iOS device:

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Search for "Medace"
  3. Tap Get or the cloud download icon
  4. If prompted, authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or enter your Apple ID password
  5. Wait for the download and installation to complete
  6. Tap the Medace icon on your home screen to launch the app

Note: Medace is optimized for iPhone and iPad screens. The app is a universal binary and will adapt to your device's screen size.

4. Account Setup

When you first launch Medace, you'll need to create an account or sign in:

  1. On the welcome screen, tap Sign Up or Sign In
  2. Enter your email address and create a secure password
  3. Fill in your full name and select your city
  4. Verify your email by checking your inbox for a 6-digit code
  5. Once verified, you'll be taken to the Home screen

Alternative: You can also choose to Sign In Anonymously to try out basic features. However, you'll need to create an account to access premium content and keep your progress synced.

We recommend enabling push notifications when prompted to receive updates about new courses and important announcements.

6. Purchasing Balance

Medace uses an in-app credit/balance system for accessing premium course content. Here's how to add balance to your account on iOS:

6.1 Steps to Purchase

  1. Go to the Profile tab
  2. Tap on your Balance Card or go to Settings > Buy Balance
  3. Review available package options and prices
  4. Select a package that suits your needs
  5. Tap Purchase
  6. Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or enter your Apple ID password
  7. Wait for the transaction to complete
  8. Your balance will update immediately in the app

6.2 Available Packages

Package prices and amounts may vary based on your region and any ongoing promotions. Common packages include:

  • Small Package: For trying out a few videos
  • Standard Package: Best value for regular users
  • Large Package: Heavy users and full course access

6.3 Payment Methods

All purchases are processed through Apple's secure billing system. Accepted payment methods include:

  • Credit/Debit cards linked to your Apple ID
  • Apple Pay
  • Apple ID balance (gift cards, allowances)
  • Carrier billing (where available)

6.4 Important Purchase Information

  • All purchases are final and non-refundable.
  • Your balance does not expire.
  • Purchases are charged to your Apple ID account.
  • Prices may vary by region; applicable taxes are added at checkout.
  • This is a consumable top-up and not a subscription.
  • Family Sharing is not supported for in-app purchases/balance.

7. Managing Subscriptions

If you have subscribed to premium access through Medace, your subscription is managed through Apple. Here's how to view and manage your subscriptions:

7.1 View Your Subscriptions

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone/iPad
  2. Tap your Apple ID at the top (your name and profile picture)
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. You'll see all active and expired subscriptions

7.2 Cancel a Subscription

  1. Follow steps 1-3 above to reach your Subscriptions list
  2. Tap on the Medace subscription
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription
  4. Confirm the cancellation
  5. Your access will continue until the end of the current billing period

7.3 Change Subscription Tier

To upgrade or downgrade your subscription:

  1. Open Medace app
  2. Go to Profile > Settings > Buy Balance (or upgrade section)
  3. Select a different package
  4. The new subscription will replace your current one
  5. Prorated credits may apply based on Apple's policies

7.4 Restore Purchases

If you've reinstalled the app or switched to a new device, your purchases may not transfer automatically. To restore:

  1. Sign in to Medace with the same Apple ID and Medace account
  2. Go to Profile > Settings
  3. Look for Restore Purchases (if available) or contact support
  4. Your balance and subscription status should sync automatically

Important: You must be signed in with the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchase. If you cannot restore your purchase, contact our support team with your purchase receipt email from Apple.

8. Settings and Profile

The Profile tab gives you control over your account and app preferences:

8.1 Edit Profile

Update your name, email, and city. Changes are saved to your account and synced across devices.

8.2 Notifications

Choose which notifications you want to receive:

  • New course announcements
  • Subscription renewal reminders
  • Weekly progress summaries
  • Promotional offers (if opted-in)

Tip: If you're not receiving notifications, check that notifications are enabled for Medace in Settings > Notifications on your device.

8.3 Language

Switch between English and Arabic (العربية). The app supports RTL layout for Arabic. Use the language toggle in the Settings screen or on the sign-up/login screens.

9. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues on iOS:

9.1 Video Playback Issues

  • Videos won't load: Check your internet connection. Try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular.
  • Buffering: Lower video quality in settings or move to a location with better signal.
  • Playback fails: Restart the app or restart your device.
  • No sound: Check your device's volume and ensure the mute switch (if any) is off. Also check if Do Not Disturb is enabled.

9.2 Purchase Problems

  • Purchase failed: Check that your Apple ID payment method is valid and has sufficient funds.
  • Balance not updated: Wait a few minutes, then restart the app. If the issue persists, contact support with your Apple receipt.
  • "Cannot connect to App Store": Verify your internet connection and sign out/re-sign into your Apple ID.

9.3 Login/Authentication Issues

  • Forgot password: Use the "Forgot Password" option on the sign-in screen to reset via email.
  • Email not verified: Check spam folder for verification email or request a new code.
  • Account locked: Too many failed attempts. Wait a few minutes or contact support.

9.4 Notification Issues

  • Go to Settings > Notifications > Medace
  • Ensure Allow Notifications is enabled
  • Check that Sounds and Alerts are turned on
  • In the app, ensure notification preferences are enabled in Settings

  • Clear app cache by re-installing the app (your account data is stored in the cloud)
