1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Medace mobile application and related services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Medace. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Medace is an educational platform that provides access to university courses, academic subjects, chapter content, and video lectures. Our Service includes:

  • Educational videos and course materials
  • Progress tracking and learning management
  • Subscription-based access to premium content
  • In-app purchases for balance/credits
  • Push notifications for updates and reminders
  • Community and social features (if applicable)

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Service. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, in accordance with applicable laws.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (email and password)
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Using a strong, unique password and updating it regularly

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to secure your account.

3.3 Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion feature in the app or by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • You engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
  • You fail to pay for premium services (when applicable)
  • We suspect unauthorized access to your account

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, networks, or user accounts
  • Scrape, data mine, or extract data from the Service without our written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to it
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account
  • Create multiple accounts for abusive purposes
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Use automated means (bots, scripts) to access the Service
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users or our staff
  • Attempt to circumvent any geographical or age restrictions

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Content

All content provided through the Service, including but not limited to videos, lectures, course materials, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and software, is the property of Medace or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any content without permission
  • Create derivative works based on our content
  • Use the content for commercial purposes
  • Remove copyright or proprietary notices from any content

5.2 User Content

If you submit content to the Service (e.g., comments, forum posts, profile information), you retain ownership of that content. However, by submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display such content for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

You represent that you have all necessary rights to submit such content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

6.1 Pricing

We offer various subscription plans and in-app purchase options. All prices are displayed in your local currency and any applicable taxes will be added at checkout. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change with prior notice.

6.2 Refund Policy

All purchases are final and non-refundable. This includes subscriptions, in-app purchases, and balance/credit top-ups. However, if you believe you have been charged incorrectly or encounter a technical issue preventing access to purchased content, please contact our support team within 14 days of purchase for assistance.

6.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds will be provided for the remaining period. To cancel:

  • iOS: Manage subscriptions through your Apple ID settings
  • Android: Cancel via Google Play Store subscription management

We do not have access to your subscription billing details—all payments are processed by Apple or Google.

6.4 In-App Purchases

Balance/credits purchased through RevenueCat are consumable and do not expire. They are not subscriptions and are not eligible for family sharing (platform dependent).

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at the time of purchase. Prices may vary by region, and additional taxes may apply based on your location.

7. Third-Party Services

Our Service relies on the following third-party service providers:

  • Supabase - Backend infrastructure, database, and authentication
  • RevenueCat - In-app purchase and subscription management
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging - Push notification delivery
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store - Distribution platforms

These providers have their own terms of service and privacy policies. You agree to comply with their terms when using our Service. We are not responsible for any changes, interruptions, or issues caused by these third-party services.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEDACE, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US DURING THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Medace and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
  • Any content you submit or actions you take through the Service

10. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved as follows:

  • Informal Resolution: First, you must contact us at legal@medace.app to attempt an informal resolution within 30 days.
  • Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration institution, in accordance with its rules then in effect. The arbitration will be conducted in [Your Jurisdiction].
  • Class Action Waiver: You agree that disputes will be resolved individually and you will not participate in any class or representative action.
